In 2019 Unite settled the long running blacklisting case against the construction companies who systematically ruined the lives of their workers. As part of the settlement, the sum of £230,000 was secured, to be administered by the union, to establish a dedicated training fund for the victims of blacklisting who have brought proceedings.
This enables the union to assist blacklisted workers to return to employment, giving them the chance to take their training and assessment, certifications, lifelong learning, employment prospects and career progression to a further level.
Grants will be awarded through the fund until it is exhausted. Applicants are advised to read the updated guidance notes (which can be downloaded here) and submit your application online using this form. Proof of payment or written acceptance of a course place from the course provider must be produced before monies are allocated. Please fill in and submit the form below to apply for a grant, making sure to answer all questions.
